Mathematics Education Symposia

The Brazilian Mathematical Society and the National Association of the Mathematics Teachers in the Basic Education (ANPMAT- Associação Nacional de Professores de Matemática na Educação Básica) organize the Symposiums of the Mathematics Teachers Formation, in the five regions of the country, having a national edition. The symposiums aim to discuss ideas and possiblities to improve the teaching quality, besides contributing for the formation of students and professionals connected to Mathematics, for an improvement of the qualification of Mathematics professionals and teachers acting in the first years of basic education.

Target Audience: Researchers, teachers, professors and students of undergraduate and graduate courses acting along with the Mathematics and Mathematics teaching, in particular, students who have concluded the PROFMAT course and teachers working in the basic education.

Calendar: The Symposiums are distributed in a biennial cycle, in tune with the Regional Colloquia of Mathematics, following the proposed calendar below:

Odd numbered years:

  • South region – first four months of the year
  • National – second four months of the year
  • West Central region – last four months of the year

Even numbered years:

  • South region –  first four months of the year
  • National – second four months of the year
  • Northeast –  last four months of the year
